Outfit: New Year’s resolutions
January 6, 2013 by daisy | Filed under black, lace ups, New Look, new shoes, shoe challenge, studs, trainers, Uncategorized.A new year, a completely new outfit. I bought this sequined dress pretty last minute from Asos, and it only arrived just in time for New Year’s Eve. It might not be the most versatile piece in my collection, but I felt like a total babe in it. It had plenty of room for my food baby and it was perfect for a night of partying in style. Sadly, I didn’t do much dancing or drinking. In fact, after a very cosy and delicious dinner the evening slowed down a bit too much for my taste, and I called it a night by three. The rainy weather and my oncoming cold kind of blew my mood, I must say.
Also didn’t help: the fact that I got at least three beers over me. I actually ended up going home to shower and switch outfits, so these shoes were actually my second pair of the night. Who would have thought, that I of all people would kick in the new year with, well, kicks?! I started out with my sequined platforms, ’cause y’all know there’s no such thing as too much sequins in one outfit. I might end up loving sequins as much as I love my studs, who knows? 2013 might be full of surprises! Even if the shoe challenge is officially finished for me, these shoes are new, so I’ll still consider them saved. I’ve worn them pretty much all the time since I got them. It’s love, you guys. Sucky rainy weather calls for comfort. I like New Look’s pretend-Converses so much, I might have to get them in every colour.
As far as new year’s resolutions go, I have quite a few lined up. The usual suspects: work out more, eat healthier, get good grades, save more money (after this month’s sales, of course). The most surprising one must be the pact the boy and I made: no booze in January. So far it’s been pretty easy for me, since I’ve been studying for my exams (I already have two this week!), but I have some parties lined up, so it will weird to stick with orange juice.
I’m in a bit of a deadlock about my hair. It’s actually getting a bit too long for my taste, and I’m starting to think that the upkeep (it should be updated every 3 to 4 weeks to stay perfectly in shape) is proving to be too much to be worth it. And as much as I like the short ‘do, I also sort of miss my curls. What to do?!
